cultural discovery

Most travel skims the surface. You see the place, tick the box, come home with photographs.

We go deeper. Sitting around a fire with nomadic families in Mongolia. Throwing yourself headfirst into India — all of it, the noise, the colour, the overwhelming beauty of it — and not looking away. Practising yoga in a Bhutanese monastery, sharing giggles with the young nuns who join you on the mat.

Yoga runs through every day, giving you the space to absorb it all. The places, the people, the moments you didn't see coming. Travel that goes both ways.

Cultural discovery done right

The places we go aren't backdrops. They're living, breathing communities, and how we travel through them matters. That means working with local guides who know these places from the inside out. Staying in locally-owned venues where possible, family-run camps and community spaces where our presence actually makes a difference.

No herding. No highlights reel. Just people from different worlds spending time together — which, when you think about it, is the best kind of travel there is.

where we go

These are the retreats where the yoga, the adventure and the culture are all part of the same extraordinary experience.

Bhutan

Most airports are forgettable. Bhutan's isn't — the baggage carousel alone stops people in their tracks. And that's just the beginning.

The intricate woodcarvings, the vivid painted murals, the dzongs rising out of the landscape like they grew there. Art and architecture aren't decoration in Bhutan, they're devotion. This is a country that measures its wealth in happiness, and you feel that in everything.

We travel with the same local guides throughout. People who share their country the way a friend would. Sitting over tea inside a dzong. Practising yoga in a remote nunnery, the young nuns joining in with curiosity and joy. This is travel that goes both ways, and you feel it.

MONGOLIA

If you want to understand nomadic life in Mongolia, you have to live it yourself. Around a third of the population still lives as their ancestors did, moving with the seasons, herding livestock, sleeping in gers on the open steppe.

We've worked with the same nomadic families for years, at our own private ger camp. This isn't tourism from a distance. Riding out across the steppe with nomadic horsemen. Hiking to ancient petroglyphs etched into rock. Learning how life moves with the land and the seasons — the deep spiritual connection between people and nature. And yoga sessions that never fail to draw in a few curious kids from camp.

india

India doesn't ease you in. It arrives all at once: the noise, the colour, the smell of incense and street food, the sheer overwhelming aliveness of it.

This is cultural discovery in its most layered, chaotic and extraordinary form. Backwaters and coconut groves in Kerala. The ghats of Varanasi, where rituals of life and death unfold side by side and you find yourself witnessing something so ancient and real it stops you in your tracks. Old Delhi by rickshaw, moving through streets that have a life entirely of their own.

India isn't for everyone. It asks something of you. But for those who are ready for it, there is nowhere quite like it.
