Each day follows a gentle rhythm shaped around yoga, nature and the slower pace of life in the Arctic. There is a balance between adventure, exploration and time to unwind, with plenty of space to rest and take in the landscapes around you.
Mornings
Most mornings begin with yoga overlooking the fjord from around 8:00–9:30am. These energising practices are designed to awaken the body and prepare you for the day ahead.
A relaxed breakfast follows, with fresh local ingredients, good coffee and time to ease into the morning while looking out across the water and surrounding mountains.
Daytime
The middle of the day is spent exploring the landscapes of northern Norway. During the retreat, we head out on a wildlife boat safari through the surrounding islands and fjords in search of sea eagles and marine life, and explore the coastline on guided walks through some of the region’s most beautiful scenery.
Packed lunches are included on excursion days so we can spend more time immersed in nature and make the most of our time outdoors.
There is also free time throughout the week to enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. After time spent outdoors, you may choose to warm up in the sauna, relax by the water, settle in with a book overlooking the fjord, or simply watch the changing light and weather move across the landscape.
Lunches are hearty and relaxed, with time afterwards to rest before the evening practice.
Evenings
In the early evening, we gather again for a slower yoga practice from around 6:00–7:30pm. These sessions are more grounding and restorative, helping the body unwind after the day’s adventures.
Dinner is served afterwards, followed by relaxed evenings by the fjord. As darkness gradually returns to the Arctic, there is time to settle into the slower rhythm of life here, enjoying the comfort of our waterfront apartments and, if conditions are right, keeping an eye out for the Northern Lights.
Each day includes around three hours of yoga, balanced with time for walking, wildlife experiences, sauna sessions and simply enjoying the slower pace of life above the Arctic Circle.
