Here’s more from Jean, in her own words.

A dancer, a student, a teacher. Not necessarily in that order.

I came to yoga as a teenager, originally trained as a dancer. What began as a sideline became a lifelong practice, one that has shaped not only how I teach but how I live and relate. Over the past three decades I’ve studied yoga, somatics, mindfulness, and Buddhist philosophy with some of the world’s most respected teachers, and I bring that depth into every class, training, and retreat I lead.

At the heart of my teaching is an invitation to listen. To the body’s inner wisdom, to the breath, to the intelligence that lives beneath the noise of daily life. My approach weaves somatic movement principles into yoga and meditation, creating space for embodied presence, self-enquiry, and the kind of transformation that doesn’t announce itself loudly but shifts something fundamental over time.

When I’m not teaching or practicing you might find me in the sauna, cold-plunging, wild swimming, kitchen dancing, irritating my son (according to him anyway), or enjoying a sundowner.

Some places just do something to you

I’m a devoted traveller, drawn to places that are alive, extraordinary, and a little untamed. From the lush coasts of the Caribbean to the geothermal wilderness of Iceland, the heights of the Himalayas, the sun-soaked islands of Greece, and the hidden temples of Bhutan. I believe nature is one of our greatest teachers. Standing at the edge of the ocean, or walking barefoot in a breathtaking landscape, has a way of returning us to ourselves. To the heart and soul of life. Something that the busyness of ordinary life can obscure.

For me, a retreat is more than time away. It’s a chance to step out of the familiar routines that can narrow us over time, and into a wider experience of life. To sense more deeply. To meet extraordinary people, share meals, swap stories, and discover friendships that form easily and last long. To be moved by landscape, by movement, by stillness, by shared community.

There’s something that happens when we step outside ordinary time. We can remember and feel how vast and varied the world is, and somehow, that reminds us of the same within ourselves.”
