Deep in the heart of Patagonia
Our Patagonia journey begins deep inside the national park, surrounded by forests, rivers and some of the most dramatic mountain scenery on the continent. Here we spend five nights immersed in nature and completely off-grid, where each day is shaped by yoga, hiking and the rare quiet that comes from being far from roads, notifications and daily demands.
Yoga in the wilderness
Yoga with Meghan Hunter complements the adventure perfectly. Morning sessions help build strength, balance and mobility for the trails ahead, while evening classes invite the body to soften and recover after long days in the mountains. Practices take place in a cosy geodesic dome, heated by the fire and framed by views of the surrounding wilderness.
Exploring the trails of El Chaltén
The area around El Chaltén is renowned for world-class hiking, with trails weaving through lenga forests, across glacial rivers, beside turquoise lagoons and into vast valleys beneath jagged peaks.
Throughout the retreat, we explore a selection of Patagonia’s most memorable walks, including Laguna de los Tres with its celebrated views of Mount Fitz Roy, along with the route to Piedra del Fraile, crossing rivers and passing through striking alpine scenery.
Life at camp
Between adventures, there is space to slow down and enjoy camp life. Read beside the fire, soak in the outdoor hot tub, or simply sit with the stillness of being fully disconnected in such a remote and beautiful place.
The glaciers of southern Patagonia
After five nights in the mountains, we continue to El Calafate for the final chapter of the retreat. Our base is a welcoming family-run estancia just outside town, set beneath wide skies with views across the Patagonian steppe.
From here, we enter Los Glaciares National Park to experience the extraordinary ice landscapes of southern Patagonia. We travel by boat among floating icebergs and towering blue walls of ice, before witnessing the famous Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world still advancing.
An unforgettable Patagonian adventure
This retreat brings together movement, challenge and deep connection to the natural world. Through daily yoga, rewarding hikes and the immense scale of Patagonia’s landscapes, you return home feeling stronger, clearer and inspired by all you have experienced.
If this kind of adventure speaks to you, we would love to welcome you to Patagonia.
This retreat is designed for those who feel most alive in wild places and enjoy combining meaningful yoga with active days in nature. It sits within our Bold Traveller category, created for guests with a strong sense of adventure, good fitness levels, and an appreciation for remote, rugged landscapes.
Expect to be out exploring on foot most days, with breathtaking hikes woven into the rhythm of the retreat. Patagonia’s weather can shift quickly, with wind, rain and sudden temperature changes all part of the experience, so a flexible mindset and clothing for all conditions are essential.
One of the standout moments is the full-day hike to Laguna de los Tres, a challenging 22km route that takes around nine hours. It requires stamina, steady footing and an injury-free body to enjoy comfortably, but the reward is one of the most iconic mountain views in South America.
If that hike is not for you, there are still beautiful ways to experience the landscape, including gentler self-guided walks and optional kayaking, depending on conditions. If you love to move, explore and embrace nature in its rawest form, this retreat tends to be deeply rewarding.

Yoga on our retreats is open to everyone, whether it’s your first class or something you’ve practised for years. Our groups are always a mix, and there’s no pressure to keep up or perform. You’re encouraged to move in a way that feels right for you. Sessions are thoughtfully designed to be grounded and accessible, often becoming a natural way to stretch, slow down, and reconnect after a day outdoors. We work with experienced teachers who know how to support beginners while also helping more regular practitioners deepen their practice, creating a space where people often surprise themselves in the best way. Who is teaching yoga?
Your yoga teacher is Meghan Hunter. who teaches vinyasa, restorative and meditation practices. She has spent the last fifteen years teaching yoga in public schools, hospital settings, internationally, and privately. Her teaching combines the best of modern science and ancient wisdom, with a strong emphasis on balanced sequencing.
On this retreat we’ll begin each morning with a fifteen minute meditation, followed by a seventy five minute vinyasa flow. The vinyasa practice is slow but strong, designed to awaken and invigorate the body and prepare us for our time on the trails. With a focus on intentional movement and steady breath, we’ll cultivate awareness and move with a balanced approach to building both strength and flexibility. Expect just enough challenge to energise you for a full day immersed in nature. While all levels are welcome, some prior experience with vinyasa is helpful.
In the late afternoons, we’ll return to our mats for a system soothing Restorative Yoga practice. Through profound quiet, long held shapes and stillness, these practices offer time to rest and more fully integrate the experiences of the day. This afternoon practice may be offered daily or on select days throughout the retreat.

Mornings
Mornings begin quietly, with tea or coffee and crisp mountain air as the landscape slowly wakes around you. You may choose to step outside for a moment of stillness, take in the views, or enjoy the calm before the day begins.
Yoga takes place from around 8:00–9:30am, with an energising practice designed to awaken the body and prepare you for the day ahead. Afterwards, a hearty breakfast is served, giving you plenty of fuel for the adventures to come.
On hiking days, we then set out into the mountains with packed lunches, ready to explore some of Patagonia’s most spectacular trails.
Daytime
We spend five nights near El Chaltén, with four full days in the mountains. On three of those days, we head out on longer mountain hikes through forests, valleys, glacier-fed rivers and turquoise lagoons. These are full days on the trail, so a good level of fitness and enjoyment of being active outdoors are important.
Routes vary across the week and are chosen to make the most of local conditions, with one of the standout experiences being the iconic hike to Laguna de los Tres, with extraordinary views of Mount Fitz Roy.
On the remaining day, you can choose the pace that suits you best. You may wish to rest at the lodge and enjoy the peaceful setting, or continue exploring with optional activities such as kayaking or self-guided walks nearby.
Later in the retreat, we travel to El Calafate, where a full-day glacier excursion offers the chance to explore Los Glaciares National Park, sailing among icebergs and witnessing the towering Perito Moreno Glacier.
Patagonia’s weather is famously changeable, so plans and timings may occasionally adapt during the week to make the most of conditions and keep the group safe.
Evenings
In the early evening, we gather again for yoga from around 5:00–6:30pm. These sessions are slower and more restorative, helping the body unwind after active days outdoors.
Dinner is warm, generous and well earned, with a relaxed atmosphere and time to share stories from the day. Evenings are peaceful, with wide skies, fresh air and a deep sense of quiet that is hard to find elsewhere.
Each day follows a balanced rhythm, with around three hours of yoga woven together with hiking, nature and time to properly switch off.

Our retreats attract a mix of solo travellers, friends and couples, typically aged 40–60, though we also welcome guests in their 30s and 70s. They are solo-friendly by design and tend to attract open-minded people who value wellbeing, enjoy exploring, and like meeting others along the way.
Some guests come for the yoga, others for the destination, but many end up loving both. The atmosphere is friendly, down-to-earth and easy to be part of.
Do I need to be fit for this retreat?
Yes, a good level of fitness is important for this retreat. Patagonia is an active destination, and most days involve walking or hiking in varied terrain. One of the optional highlight hikes is a challenging full-day mountain route of around 22km.

Our chefs can cater for most dietary requirements, but we do need to know in advance. Please include any requests on your booking form and we will confirm in writing. You are also very welcome to check with our team before booking.
Who is hosting this trip?
All of our retreats are hosted by a Reclaim retreat leader, who manages logistics and looks after the group, alongside a Reclaim yoga teacher who leads your yoga sessions. For Patagonia, your retreat leader will be Melisa Carvalan, and your yoga teacher will be Matthew Shaw, Creative Director of Yoga Roots.
We also work with excellent local hiking guides in El Chaltén, who bring deep knowledge of the mountains, trails and changing conditions. Our team works closely together throughout the retreat to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We believe in good tourism – travel that’s genuinely good for everyone involved: the people who come with us, the communities we visit, and the places we pass through.
In practice, that means measuring our emissions and working to reduce them, choosing locally owned partners, and seeking out destinations that are less visited and more meaningful. It shows up in every decision we make, from where we go to who we work with.
Our El Chalten location is off grid, so they had to create everything from scratch while trying to be as sustainable as possible. Electricity is powered by solar energy, the sun is very high in Patagonia during the tourist season and this is the most sustainable option. Water is from a spring and they have biodigesters so they do not contaminate. They serve water from the spring at the table during meals and they do not offer plastic bottle unless asked for. And every year they incorporate new actions to be more sustainable.
