Are flights included?
Flights are not included. You’ll need to book your international flights to Buenos Aires, along with the recommended return domestic flights to El Calafate. We provide suggested options on the travel page, and our team is always happy to advise if you’d like support with booking.
What’s the group size and what kind of people are going?
This retreat is limited to just 12 guests, creating a small-group experience with a warm and personal feel.
Our retreats attract a mix of solo travellers, friends and couples, typically aged 40–60, though we also welcome guests in their 30s and 70s. They are solo-friendly by design and tend to attract open-minded people who value wellbeing, enjoy exploring, and like meeting others along the way.
Some guests come for the yoga, others for the destination, but many end up loving both. The atmosphere is friendly, down-to-earth and easy to be part of.
Do I need to be fit for this retreat?
Yes, a good level of fitness is important for this retreat. Patagonia is an active destination, and most days involve walking or hiking in varied terrain. One of the optional highlight hikes is a challenging full-day mountain route of around 22km.
You do not need to be an athlete, but you should feel comfortable being active for several hours, walking on uneven ground, and spending time outdoors in changeable weather.
If you are unsure whether this retreat is the right fit for you, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
Will the itinerary ever change?
Patagonia’s weather is part of what makes the region so wild and special. Wind, rain or trail conditions can occasionally mean we adjust plans during the week. Our experienced team always makes decisions with guest safety and overall experience in mind.
Do I need any vaccinations?
Please check here for travel health advice for Argentina and speak with your healthcare provider if needed.
Can I book on my own?
Yes, absolutely. Many of our guests travel solo. Our retreats are designed to be welcoming and social, and it’s a lovely way to meet like-minded people.
Can you cater for my dietary requests?
Our chefs can cater for most dietary requirements, but we do need to know in advance. Please include any requests on your booking form and we will confirm in writing. You are also very welcome to check with our team before booking.
Who is hosting this trip?
All of our retreats are hosted by a Reclaim retreat leader, who manages logistics and looks after the group, alongside a Reclaim yoga teacher who leads your yoga sessions. For Patagonia, your retreat leader will be Melisa Corvalan, and your yoga teacher will be James Shaw.
We also work with excellent local hiking guides in El Chaltén, who bring deep knowledge of the mountains, trails and changing conditions. Our team works closely together throughout the retreat to ensure everything runs smoothly.
