Our story

Reclaim Your Self Owner Jools Sampson

Reclaim Your Self was founded in 2005 by me, Jools Sampson! I am the owner of Reclaim Your Self and I create our yoga retreats. I have a passion for working in interesting places and for seeking out extraordinary destinations. I love places that are less explored – the places where beauty and wild nature make your soul sing.

We run 10 yoga retreats each year and I personally host each one. We are not into mass production here at Reclaim Your Self!  We don’t have a list of venues and book in teachers to deliver your classes but rather I seek out excellent people to collaborate with and we work together to choose locations and create retreats from scratch. This means every retreat is made with love.

On retreat my job is to make sure everything runs like clockwork. Behind each retreat is a creative fusion (and a lot of hard work) by our international and local team members, with me at the helm making sure our guests receive a high quality personalised retreat experience.

I want everyone who comes on our retreats to have an absolutely amazing time so I look after our guests, making sure they feel really well supported and cared for. I’ve been working internationally for more than 20 years now and running retreats for 15, so I am the calm and friendly force who is always around on retreat making sure everyone is ok – from practical stuff to moral support and encouragement, a listening ear and a cup of tea (I’m British and it’s always a winner!)

Where did I come from? I changed careers in 2004, moving from international development into the wellness world. When I started, there weren’t many yoga holidays around so we were pioneers.

What was my vision? I passionately wanted to create a yoga retreat community; something powerful and new, an excellent and inspiring space for people to share skills and wisdom, whether they be guests, team or our local hosts.

I’ve kept the team small and our vision strong. Everyone on the team is following their dreams, sharing their expertise and best ideas. We enjoy being part of everything that happens on a retreat and we put our hearts into everything we do. I am really proud of what we have created, it’s a team effort every step of the way. I am honoured to introduce my talented and much loved team below.

Emma Henry

    Adam Husler

    Yoga teacher

Adam (E-500RYT) brings a unique perspective to those who seek more from yoga than making pretty shapes. Educated by globally renown teachers, including Jason Crandell and Michael Stone, Adam specialises in a signature style of Alignment-Based Vinyasa— fuelled by a fascination with anatomy and a desire to ask ‘why?’

Adam believes that yoga is a personally subjective practice of self enquiry, where one thing is for certain: whether a long-time listener, first time caller, or anywhere in between... yoga offers us all plenty of options to challenge and reward. Start small, go slow, practise, and all is coming. With a robust home schedule in London and leading global workshops and trainings, Adam has thousands of teaching hours under his belt. Jean Hall

      Yoga Teacher

As a life long lover of movement and creativity Jean has spent much of her life exploring bodywork disciplines, travelling and practicing yoga. In 1995 she qualified as a Iyengar yoga teacher and has continued to study different forms of yoga with many great teachers from diverse backgrounds including Geeta Iyengar and Sri K. Pattahbi Jois, as well as working with more unconventional teachers such as Gill Clarke and Paddy McGrath.

Jean teaches a soulful and deep dynamic slow flow form of yoga. She is known for her unique creative sequencing which helps to draw students and teachers safely beyond limitations and closer to their true potential and confidence through the yogic system of asanas, mindful breathing and meditation with an approach of devotion and playfulness.

        Antonia Reed-Felstead

        Yoga teacher

Antonia has practised yoga for over 18 years and completed her RYT 200 Hour course under the guidance of Jacqueline Chiodo in Costa Rica, followed by a further 300 hours in Bali, and has been teaching in London since early 2012.  She is accredited and with Yoga Alliance UK, and also draws inspiration from Adam Husler and Jason Crandell.

Her philosophy is that it’s not how far you can stretch it’s how you stretch; if the alignment is right then the flexibility will come, and meanwhile your body will reap the benefits of being properly aligned.  She has a relaxed, personal approach which is tuned to the students and not to a rigid set of poses.

          Bettina Campolucci-Bordi

Our head chef Bettina is based in London and is the owner of Bettina's Kitchen. She is a busy working mum, pioneering plant-based projects, collaborations and workshops.

With a background as a professional chef, her plant-based journey started more than 10 years ago when she launched her own retreats and she did all the cooking. What had started as an experiment became her life. In 2018 she released her first book and we are delighted to have her heading up our kitchen teams for 2019.
