Guatemala Jivamukti Yoga Retreat

8-15 February 2020

Teacher: Emma Henry

Head to Guatemala for a yoga retreat with Emma Henry in a stylish eco lodge on the shores of the legendary Lake Atitlán. Our award winning location is exclusively nestled in its own nature reserve and is only accessible by boat. Practice Jivamukti yoga and enjoy sweeping views over the azure waters to dramatic volcanoes, explore local villages by boat and hike through the nature reserve.

In its privileged setting our luxuriously natural boutique hotel has won accolades around the world for its location and positive footprint on the local community. The entire staff is indigenous Mayan. Inspired by nature and created from volcanic stone, adobe and palm our spacious lakeside suites are individually appointed with comfortable hand hewn king beds, fine linens, intricate woven textiles and indigenous antiques. The lodge is the gateway to the Laguna nature reserve, a beautiful and mountainous land that begins at the lake and sprawls behind the lodge to a 100 acres of safe walking on bio diverse land.

Your yoga retreat will include twice daily yoga classes with Emma Henry on a beautiful yoga deck overlooking the lake. Between classes you can relax by the lake, take a dip in the hot river rock spa pool, borrow a kayak, book a massage or head out exploring. You can also go horse riding through the maize fields, or head out by boat to visit lakeside villages and local markets.

Yoga with Emma Henry

Emma Henry will teach daily yoga classes. Morning classes will be 2 hours and you’ll experience a strong Jivamukti flow practice. Afternoon sessions will be 90 minutes.

Each Jivamukti class offers a dynamic asana practice infused with inspiring teachings derived from the ancient yogic texts. Classes will include chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation.

Emma is one of the top Jivamukti teachers so you can be sure of feeling challenged and inspired to safely explore and deepen your yoga practice on this retreat.

Modifications and progressions are given so that everyone will find these yoga classes rewarding but we do recommend you have previous experience of a flow class and enjoy being challenged by a dynamic style of yoga. It is a yoga style that will require you to commit to your classes.
