Adam has a big love of anatomy, which has led him to specialise in Alignment Based Vinyasa Yoga. He has studied at an advanced level under Jason Crandell and intensively under Budokon Yoga Founder Cameron Shayne and renowned meditation teacher Michael Stone.
“My classes are creatively sequenced featuring long holds, controlled yet dynamic movements, intelligent alignment and deep exploration of depth in postures. They’re also dogma free! Anatomy is my passion, not pretty shapes.”
We are big fans of Michael Stone – how do his teachings influence you?
“Michael is a leading global meditation teacher but people don’t always realise the lineage of inspiring yoga teachers that he comes from. After years of traditional asana, he has increasingly moved more towards a physical practice that focuses on mobility and stability, something that features heavily in my teaching.”
Why do you like teaching on yoga retreats?
“Beyond the joys of not having to tackle the London streets to get to a class, in a world of ‘drop in yoga’, retreats give you a chance to worker deeper with students in an environment that allows them to make the most out of their yoga practice; on the mat and off it.”
What are you looking forward to most about the Tuscany yoga retreat?
“The people that I’ll be delivering the retreat with (awww thanks Adam!) including a yoga teacher I’ve respected and admired for years: Emma Henry. I rather like the idea of tanning by the pool too!”
